跟踪叶清婉的男人正满脸沮丧地拿着手机，用英语说道：“boss, I'm really inpetent. I almost got her today. but who knew, that car suddenly went crazy.（老大，我真是无能。今天差点就得手了。但谁知道，那车突然抽疯了。）”

电话那头瞬间传来一阵愤怒的咆哮：“what the hell are you talking about? You call that almost getting her? You've messed up such a simple task!（你到底在说什么鬼话？你管这叫差点就得手？这么简单的任务你都搞砸了！）”

男人身子一缩，脸上满是畏惧，赶忙解释道：“boss, I really tried my best. the situation was out of my control. the car just crashed into another vehicle all of a sudden.（老大，我真的尽力了。情况完全失控了。那辆车突然就撞上别的车了。）”

“Idiot!（蠢货！）”电话那头怒吼道，“do you have any idea how much this setback could cost us? we've been planning this for so long, and you just blew it!（你知道这次挫折会给我们带来多大损失吗？我们策划了这么久，就被你搞砸了！）”

男人额头冒出豆大的汗珠，声音颤抖着说：“boss, please give me another chance. I swear I'll make it right next time.（老大，请再给我一次机会。我发誓下次一定办妥。）”

电话那头沉默了片刻，随后传来冰冷的声音：“You'd better make it right. If you screw up again, you'll pay the price.（你最好能搞定。要是你再搞砸，你会付出代价的。） Now, tell me exactly what happened. Leave out no details.（现在，详细告诉我到底发生了什么。别漏任何细节。）”

男人深吸一口气，开始结结巴巴地讲述事情经过：“I was following her car closely. Everything was going smoothly. but then, as I was about to make my move, the car in front of me suddenly veered to the side and crashed into a white sedan. I had no time to react.（我一直紧紧跟着她的车。本来一切都很顺利。但就在我准备动手的时候，前面那辆车突然转向，撞上了一辆白色轿车。我根本来不及反应。）”

电话那头听完后，冷哼一声：“this sounds fishy. I'll look into it.don't even think about running away, or you know what the consequences will be.

（这听起来很可疑。我会去查清楚。你也别想着逃跑，否则你知道后果。”

男人连忙点头，尽管对方看不到，“Yes, boss. I'll wait for your instructions.（是，老大。我等您指示。）”挂了电话，男人瘫坐在椅子上，脸上满是担忧与恐惧，不知道接下来等待他的会是什么……
